Suggestions for Having a Barbecue and What to Cook
Barbecue is actually a method of cooking where food is cooked over a very low fire; however, many people use the term “barbecue” to describe any type of outdoor cooking or even a party with food cooked and served outdoors.
BBQ beef dish is great cooked many different ways. One method is to take some aluminum foil, cut-up pieces of onion, carrot, celery, and potatoes, and place in a hamburger patty. Teriyaki beef kebabs are great to BBQ. You can barbecue them using beef, soy sauce, medium-dry sherry, ginger, and a pulped, large clove garlic. Cut the beef into cubes and tenderize the beef. Marinate the beef in the soy sauce, sherry, ginger, and garlic. Cook on skewers on med-high heat. You can also add cherry tomatoes, pearl onions, and mushrooms to the skewers, if desired.
BBQ chicken quarters are always a popular item to have for an outdoor BBQ. Chicken breasts with homemade marinate are also delicious as a BBQ item.
Roasted corn-on-the-cob is easy to prepare on the grill or barbecue. Soak it, remove the silk, pull back the husk, coat with butter, wrap the husk in wet twine, and grill. There are many other vegetables that you can grill or barbecue such as potatoes, whole onions, and bell peppers. Garlic bread and french bread also work well on the grill. Many people even like to grill fruit such as pineapple, peaches, and bananas.
You may want to try using hickory, mesquite, or apple wood chips on your barbecue equipment. Pork tastes great over hickory chips, while mesquite is better for beef or chicken.
Potato salad and other salads go great with BBQ beef, chicken, pork, and many other meats. Enjoy the warm weather, get outside, and have a delicious BBQ!
